-The History of the Orders
In the beginning, existed both Light and Darkness, for one cannot exist without the other. The question, my friend, is where does time begin. ~High Priestess Nayli 3038 A.D.
We are soldiers of Truth.
We are students of the past.
We are guardians of Time.
We live, and, from living, we must die.
Death is not risk.
Death is adventure.
Death is part of the Cycle.
Woe be to he who fears the Call.
~~Ring Master Creed
Here lies a man who rode the ring
and used his sword to safeguard history.

(~1st Point of Time Travel)
He’s stuck in present-day Scotland with a bent time-travel key only she can repair. Duty requires he return to his time. His ticket home relies on a lonely woman haunted by more than apparitions. Her track record with men keeps her at a distance. And ghostly events keep pushing them closer together. Earning her trust will require the kind of patience only a valiant time guardian learns during his twenty years of apprenticeship. If time-travel duty, romance, and a bit of magic don’t help them realize their destiny resonates in mysterious fairy SWORDSONG, all known history could change.
"His forbearance, pure love, and finally his and Katie's "hand fasting" create an enchanting love story with a touch of magic... destiny sends them to a time and a life far removed from the lives they have known... a tale of future, present, and past with each of the time periods nurturing Katie and Murdo until the time is right for their union—their destiny. Skhye Moncrief creates a unique culture from which Murdo comes. She weaves it in with present culture, making a compelling, sparkling love story with a unique twist near the end." ~Camilla, Long and Short Reviews
"Murdo requires the special skills of swordsmith Katie Innis to complete his duties as a time guardian. But Katie's past makes her distant around the man's charms. Who doesn't love a noble Scotsman that can quote Robert Burns? Murdo's wooing of Katie requires a bit of magic only a true soul-mate can deliver." ~Victoria, posted at Amazon
"SWORDSONG will have you hooked from the beginning until the “happily ever after.” And if you were trying to creep us out with Cousin John, you definitely succeeded, Ms. Moncrief. There was a glossary at the front of the book. It easy to pick up book three without reading the others." ~Angelique, Happily Ever After Reviews
"Seductive and alluring, The Spell of the Killing Moon draws you deep into sensual intrigue with just enough explosive action to keep you breathless, making this a dynamite read from the first page to the last. In the future, this reader, for one, is eager to pick up anything written by Skhye Moncrief."
~Margaret Marr; Nites and Weekends
"...The best of spine-tingling suspense. The setting is perfect. Moncrief’s ability to wield magic and emotion are without compare. Her words twist together emotions and visuals until you experience this tale as if the trap were set for you. Some lines blend a kind of poetic magic: “Moonlight wove a special kind of magic, a spell so vacillating that a person never knew if reality were anything other than a dream.” Darkness and premonitions and deadly intent fill these pages. "The Spell of the Killing Moon" is a unique blend of mystic Medieval Gothic and romance…and a true blood-curdling thriller. 5 books" ~Snapdragon; LASR
A Time Guardian Halloween Tale
A demon stalks Druidess Aron MacKintosh, trying to use her to gain control of the timeline in present-day Scotland. Time plows toward Samhain when the doorways open between the Now and the Happy Otherworld. She finds herself in a strange alliance with an unusual time guardian, Cowboy. The duo struggles to defeat the demon. If Cowboy can’t earn her trust, the integrity of the timeline could be endangered. Only Cowboy’s charm and southern idea of chivalry has what it takes to leave an ancient evil bound NAKED ON THE STAIRCASE.
"Druids, magic, time travel. They’re all present in Naked on the Staircase. The title of this book intrigued me, but by the time I’d finished reading I understood why the author chose this intriguing title. The entity is a mystery being whose identity is not solved until the last few pages, but its very existence holds the story together. Naked on the Staircase is well written with intrigue, mystery, magic and time travel, ingredients that work well in a fantasy novel. The interaction between Aron and Cowboy was excellent and the background of the story was skillfully woven into the book. I enjoyed reading Naked on the Staircase and would like to read more of Skhye Moncrief’s novels." ~Orchid; The Long and Short Reviews
"I enjoyed the chemistry between Aron and Cowboy and they had some really hot intimate moments that had me glued to the page. Cowboy rescues Aron from being tortured. They have some intense sexual energy and I loved watching them find their way together and realizing that they were soulmates and she would do anything to bind her heart to his." ~Jolene A. NAKED ON THE STAIRCASE
"Interesting characters, a fascinating plot, and a fantasy theme with some twists and turns that this reader never expected were all incorporated into Sacrificial Hearts. I enjoyed the suspense as Twila anticipates her brother’s whereabouts. The intensity surrounding Twila and everything she endures to locate Danny keeps the reader on the edge of their seat. Skhye Moncrief spins a different kind of romance: erratic with a blend of diverse characters. The way she interchanges Twila by being frustrated one minute then irritated the next makes her a believable character throughout the story. I could share in some of her sentiments when it came to her brother, not to mention learning how she could be a Druid in this entertaining adventurous ride." ~Linda L., Fallen Angel Reviews

"FORBIDDEN ETERNITY... Talk about a story that will keep you on the edge of your seat and telling others to leave you alone until you're finished. Ms. Moncrief has created a story unlike any other. It's the best when it comes to spine-tingling suspense. Her words are so visually written. I didn't feel like I was reading at all, I felt like I was living the story myself. The story is dynamite; it explodes off the pages and leaves you breathless for more. In the future, I will be more than excited to see a new release from Skhye Moncrief, not including what I'm ordering from her backlist!" ~Tulip, LASR

Time Guardian Cover Artist...
Not by freak chance.
Whether ring activation was purely scientific or solely magical, the people have yet to descry. But they realized bigger problems awaited. The stone circle was a portal between time and space, accessing Earth history. Although the future's post-mass-exodus trend among cultures is in cultural revival to maintain their roots, the Celts found more than fantastic possiblities in studying their heritage. Humanity wasn't renowned for compassion. Tales of old spoke of greed and hate. Therein, the Time-Guardian Orders were born.
Parts of Time-Guardian history are unappealing. Yet, Brothers and Sisters know their history can never change. Their past makes them who they are...
These are the stories of the men and women I have known.
~High Priestess Nayli, 3030 A.D.
If you're reading this, I have finally been released from my immortal service to the Gods. Blessed death never looked so delightful. May all your days bring you true peace.
Your neighbor, co-worker, friend, lover, or even you could be a time guardian...
In another solar system, four planets have been occupied by the Gaels--Earth cultures who relocated in the not-so-distant future. Upon one of those planets, two Time Guardian Orders were created, Ring Masters and Druids. The Orders are male and female, a dichotomy that plays lackey to the fairies. Members of the Orders live, die, eat, and breathe at the whims of the Gods. The price they pay is in exchange for the ability to study their cultural history through time travel. They sacrifice their lives to understand their past.
The Orders intermarry to prevent paradoxical children from being born along the timeline. The marriage is a sacred binding sanctioned by the Gods resulting in two souls being bound to each other throughout time. Therein originates the myth of soul mates.
You could be a Time Guardian in this incarnation. You just haven't realized it yet.
"All truths are easy to understand once they are discovered;
the point is to discover them." ~Galileo
It is written that the Brotherhood began with a few warrior monks who bucked the system
as well as the Catholic priesthood.
These renowned men fought for an individual's freedom in connecting with The One. For the men of this time, The One was the Christian God.
And these men were outlawed.
These are the Brothers who fought for religious freedom and began the trek toward time guardianship.
Although, they knew nothing of the rewards and trials their struggle would reap.
These men instigated Christian mysticism.
These men are not forgotten.
Descendants of the Templars became kamikaze bodyguards who marry Druids and travel with their spouses in jaunts through time. Ring Masters--Brothers--use numerology to navigate through time and space. Each man is awarded a time-travel key--a nidium claymore--to use to activate stone circles for time travel after he is found worthy around the end of his 20-year apprenticeship in the Brotherhood.
Ring Masters's lives are spent in the quest for Truth in order to demystify what the Gods really are. Brothers constantly try to expand the field of Post-Modern Alchemy. Above all else, these men protect their wives.
For it is written...
2nd Point of Time Travel:
Every man is your grandfather.
3rd Point of Time Travel:
Every woman is your grandmother.
5th Point of Time Travel:
No Druid may wield a weapon.
6th Point of Time Travel:
No Ring Master may kill unless protecting his wife.
Don't mess with a Ring Master's soul mate.
He will kill you.
John Dee is held as the father of Post-Modern Alchemy by The Orders. His studies enrich the Brotherhood's understanding of time travel. Because the Gods have yet to share how the fairies translate, rather transmutate, a human through time and across space. Without John Dee's extensive studies, the Brotherhood would have little to operate upon in descrying time travel. And while believing Dee fathered The Order's science of Post-Modern Alchemy, no Brother has met Dee nor has proof Dee worked for The Cause.
And then there are those genetically-modified beings that
humans created in the future.
They seem fairy-like but of fragile human spirit.
They are real.
And they are returning to claim their place within history.
Peace is the only battle worth waging. ~Camus
These Sisters have no idea who the first Druids were. Nor can they believe Druids originated in the past. These Sisters can only reason they exist within a pool of bards along Time's vast continuum. They must believe they are part of the great chain of Time and serve a higher purpose beyond merely studying their history. These women sacrifice everything to maintain history's integrity.
In joining the Orders as young girls, these women educate themselves in a rite of passage spanning 20 years and then leave everything they have behind in order to study the past. And they suffer the fate of history's populations.
Druids can die...
The Orders view Sisters in a sacred light.
These women are coveted by their spouses.
And in the grand scheme of their culture's world view,
Druids are the sacred feminine.
